The line is being drawn through my heart

It isn’t easy knowing that you were given up by your mother, nor is it easy to know that your mother had given you up after she gave birth to you with no goodbye. Evelyn’s mother had given birth to her at the young age of sixteen, an age where many aren’t ready to have the responsibility of being a mother. She obviously wasn’t and gave Evelyn up to an orphanage outside of Salem, leaving Evelyn to be taken care of by others while she was free to live her life without a thought of the daughter she’d abandoned.

This beautiful raven-haired child was born on June 13th, 1986. Being raised in an orphanage wasn’t easy for the young girl, never feeling like she was wanted by the parents that came in to find a child to raise. There were a few people who wanted to adopt Evelyn, but were later interested in a happier looking child. One that they believed wouldn’t give them problems, ones that tended to look more like them if they had ever conceived a child of their own. Evelyn mainly stuck to herself, drawing and writing instead of trying to be adopted. She never really felt the need to make herself seem like she needed the help, assuming that if a person is coming to a orphanage that they would know that each child needed someone. She was finally able to go out on her own at the age of eighteen, gaining a scholarship to a college where she majored in art history. Art was the only thing she ever had a passion for and something that will always make her feel alive.

At one point Evelyn did find a lover, one who she thought would be there for her but it seemed that through time he couldn’t make the commitment. A fear he’d always held. Now Evelyn lives on her own in a loft while working at a shop nearby. She still paints and draws but hasn’t since the break up, it only makes her think of the times spent with him. She hasn’t seen him since he left town, but she wouldn’t object to ever seeing him again. Instead, after waiting for him to return to her he moved away and left her in Salem. After opening her own studio she suddenly met a vampire who seemed to take all the pain from her life away. He made her feel wanted and gave her a new view of life. He gave her hope. But in their short romance, word had gotten out about her mother dying in California. The orphanage was given permission to tell Evelyn from her mother who had been dying on her death bed. She was dying of cancer. Instead of pulling Lucern into her twisted life, she had to deal with the pains of meeting new family that didn't want her before and now were standing there in sunny California with open arms. Evelyn's mother died after spending time with her daughter after three days and in turn, left Evelyn her beach house and enough money to support herself if she decided to stay. Her blood family also said they wanted to be more apart of her life and would help her if she promised to be apart of their lives. Her birth mother's grandmother helped her to find work in their families business but soon felt restless with working the many hours with people who pretended that they knew what it was like for her. Evelyn decided to work on her own and now works at a tattoo parlor with a friend she had made when first coming to California. She still does photography and paints, but they're more so hobbies than when she had tried to make a living out of them.

Now she’s living her life paycheck to paycheck, waiting for something in her life to go right.

Some random facts
